The devastating cyclone and torrential rains have caused large scale devastation in the Baluchistan and Sindh Provinces of Pakistan. An estimated 2 million people have been affected by the flood and over 250 have lost their lives. The damages to the property is still being assessed but according to an estimate only Baluchistan has suffered a loss of over Rs 10 billion. Many areas in both the provinces have been rendered inaccessible due to heavy flooding and damage to road infrastructure. The Government is using helicopters and heavy vehicles to provide necessary relief to the affected. In order to receive donations for the affectees of recent cyclone and resultant floods in Pakistan the following two accounts have been opened with the National Bank of Pakistan, Washington D.C.

Click here for on line donation through National Bank of Pakistan Any question regarding donation in kind should be referred to the National Disaster Management Authority. In response to one such query by the Mission , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has clarified that the consignment may be sent directly to Gwadar or Karachi in the name of Chairman NDMA by the sender. The Mission may assist the dispatcher in sending the consignment but no financial liability on the part of the Government of Pakistan or the Embassy may be accepted. Goods may also not be accepted for storage in the Mission for subsequent dispatch as happened in case of relief goods for the Earthquake in some Missions.
