Mr. Muhammad Aslam Khan assumed the position of Deputy Chief of Mission on 29 December 2005. He has served in the Embassy since October 2003, as Minister (Political) and Political Counsellor.
Mr. Aslam Khan, who joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1983, has served on important posts, both at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, and missions in Cairo, Tehran and Geneva. His previous positions include: Director (UN) and Director (Afghanistan) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Counsellor (Political), Embassy of Pakistan, Cairo; First Secretary (Political), Embassy of Pakistan, Tehran; and Second Secretary, Pakistan Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office, Geneva.
Mr. Aslam Khan has represented Pakistan at several important meetings and forums and was part of Pakistan delegations to the UN General Assembly, NAM Summit Kaula-Lumpur, and OIC Summit, Tehran. He holds a masters degree in Economics from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad.
