The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, DC would like to know what Pakistani-American
students in the U.S. envision for the future of Pakistan. To engage and
encourage the reflections of young Pakistani-Americans, the Embassy is
holding an essay competition on the topic:
Shaping the Future of Pakistan: What challenges does Pakistan face and
what steps should the country take to overcome them?
Essays may address a range of themes: politics, economics, culture, religion,
international relations, human development, etc. The winning essay(s)
will be published on the Embassy website and the winner(s) will be invited
to Washington, DC to present his/her paper at the Embassy's Independence
Day Reception on August 14th, 2003.
The competition is open to students between the ages of 16 and 23. Submissions
must be 3 to 5 pages in length, double-spaced. Please email your submissions
to essays@embassyofpakistan.org. The deadline for submissions is July
25, 2003.
