A farewell hosted in honor of Mr. Ashraf Jehangir Qazi

Charge d'Affaires Mr. Mohammad Sadiq, hosted a farewell reception in honor of Mr. Ashraf Jehangir Qazi, who was appointed as Special Representative of the U.N. Secretary General (SRSG) for Iraq. Mr. Qazi remained Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States from Sept. 2002 to July 2004. Mr. Qazi has just returned to the U.S. from Iraq for consultation with the U.N Secretary General.

A large number of US officials attended the reception including, Deputy Secretary of Defence, Paul Wolfowitz; General Richard Myers, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff; Michael Green, Advisor to U.S. President for Asia; Gordon England, Secretary Navy; Peter Rodman, Assistant Secretary of Defence; Director General USAID, Andrew Natsios; other White House and State Department officials, think tanks representatives Stephen Cohen, William Milam, Marvin Weinbaum and Karl Inderfurth. Ambassadors from several countries were also present.
