Moshahid Hussain Visits Pakistan Embassy

Former Information Minister Senator Mushahid Hussain visited the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, DC on July 28th. He met with the officials and Pakistani-American interns, who are volunteering at the Embassy and also toured the new Chancery building.

Senator Mushahid Hussain discussed domestic and international issues with the officials and interns. The discussion particularly focused on the evolving political culture in Pakistan. He emphasized the need for fostering permanent political institutions in Pakistan. He also observed that in the post-9/11 world, for the first time the United States has begun to see a close relationship with Pakistan as a vital strategic goal in itself. The discussion was candid, frank, and robust.

The Charge d.Affairs, Mr. Mohammad Sadiq, also hosted a lunch for the Senator at the Embassy.
