Ambassador Karamat visits Denver and Colorado Springs
The Ambassador visited Denver and Colorado Springs over a period of 24 hours to address the Foothills International Forum in Golden, Colorado; the Colorado Springs World Affairs Council in Colorado Springs; the Faculty and honour students at the US Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs; and the Denver World Affairs Council and the Denver Council on Foreign Relations. During his busy programme of briefings the Ambassador outlined in detail the earthquake tragedy and the urgency of relief assistance and also in the long term, reconstruction assistance particularly from the international community. The Ambassador also briefed the audiences in all four locations of Pakistan’s appreciation for timely American assistance. The Ambassador apprised the audiences on the current state of Pakistan-US relations, the regional situation in South Asia, non-proliferation issues and Pakistan’s continuing contribution and sacrifices in the war on terror. He briefed the audiences on Pakistan’s domestic reform programme and also highlighted the strong economic growth indicators. He reiterated Pakistan’s desire to conclude a Free Trade Agreement with the USA and invited American companies to actively consider doing business in Pakistan. Washington DC
