51 Pakistani citizens left Houston today for Islamabad by special chartered flight

A special chartered flight carrying 51 Pakistani citizens left Houston today for Islamabad. The flight is expected to arrive Islamabad in the afternoon of February 8, 2006.

The deportation process was finalized after establishing the fact that all deportees have exhausted their judicial options in the United States. Some of the deportees were convicted for criminal charges. Others were not able to adjust their legal status for stay in the US.

The families of deportees were kept informed of progress made in their cases. An official of the Embassy and a Doctor are on board to provide any required assistance. Deportees will get financial assistance from the Embassy of Pakistan on arrival in Islamabad to cover expenses for their onward travel to their hometowns.
