Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will leave for Kuala Lumpur today to attend the emergency Summit meeting of the OIC Executive Committee on 3 rd August 2006. The emergency Summit meeting of the Executive Committee has been convened to discuss the grievous situation in Lebanon and Palestine in the wake of Israeli military aggression. The open-ended meeting will be attended by leaders from the OIC Summit Troika ( Malaysia , Senegal and Qatar ), ICFM Troika ( Azerbaijan , Pakistan and Yemen ), Saudi Arabia , Lebanon , Iran , Syria , Turkey , Egypt , Indonesia , Jordan , Bangladesh , Brunei and UAE. The Prime Minister of Malaysia who is the current Chairman of the OIC will preside the meeting which is expected to adopt a common OIC position on the issue. Pakistan has strongly condemned the Israeli aggression and called for immediate halt to the attacks which threaten to engulf the entire region with serious consequences. It is imperative for the international community to ensure an immediate ceasefire and work for facilitating a diplomatic solution to the crisis. Pakistan has also extended four plane-loads of relief assistance including medicines and food for the brotherly people of Lebanon affected by the Israeli military aggression.
