The Embassy organized a four day exhibition of paintings by renowned Pakistani-American artist Mirza Mohamed at the Embassy from August 11-14, 2006.

The Exhibition was inaugurated by Ambassador Mahmud Ali Durrani in an impressive ceremony at the Embassy. In his message on the occasion, Ambassador Durrani referred to Pakistani's rich cultural heritage "spanning centuries of creativity, from times immemorial to the present day". He praised Mirza's natural flair for blending bold themes in dynamic colors. He said that a number of cultural events would be held throughout the year as part of the 60th anniversary celebration.

The event was attended by officials from the Sate Department, Department of Defence, Congressional staffers, members of the Diplomatic Corps and Pakistani-American community. The event was also widely covered in the local electronic and print media.
