Ambassador Durrani visits NADRA Headquarters in Islamabad
Chairman NADRA informed the Ambassador that complete information regarding NICOP/POC was available on the NADRA website www.nadra.gov.pk. Any expatriate Pakistani could visit the site and seek the information he/she needed, including about the difference between NICOP/POC. Similarly the rejection status was now being displayed on the NADRA website in non-technical and simple language. Chairman NADRA also said that recently the US Custom and Border Security Agencies were carrying out random security checks on NADRA DHL consignments. This caused delay in receipt of the cards by the applicants. This matter was being resolved. Chairman NADRA also informed Ambassador Durrani of the benefits NICOP and POC cards provide to expatriate Pakistanis.
Benefits of NICOP were: visa free entry into Pakistan for dual nationals; protection of the Government of Pakistan in any foreign country or state as a Pakistani citizen. Applicants could apply for the cards through the NADRA website www.nadra.gov.pk . A new feature of online help, through personal chat was being added to further facilitate filling of forms in real time. Ambassador Durrani expressed the desire to use Mobile Registration Vans to help the Pakistani expatriate population living USA to apply for NADRA services.

Ambassador Mahmud Ali Durrani visited the NADRA Headquarters in Islamabad on Sept 11th, 2007. He conveyed to Chairman NADRA the concerns of the Pakistani expatriates in the US regarding various NADRA services. In this connection he spoke about the eligibility/difference between a NICOP and POC, rejection status on the website and delay in receiving of cards by applicants. 
In the case of POC these were: unlimited visa free entry into Pakistan; indefinite stay in Pakistan with exemption from reporting to police or foreigners registration offices, etc.; right to purchase, sell, own, deal with and dispose off movable and immovable property anywhere in Pakistan; right to open and operate bank accounts in Pakistan; use of POC in place of CNIC wherever the latter is required for establishing identity of the cardholder.
