Defense Secretary Robert Gates attends Pakistan Defense Day reception
US Defense Secretary, Robert M. Gates attended the Pakistan Defense Day reception held in the Embassy this evening. Mr. Gates, who was accompanied by several senior officials from the Pentagon, signed the visitor's book and gave a short interview to Voice of America. During the course of conversation with the Cd'A, Mr. Muhammad Aslam Khan, and Defense Attaché, Brig. Khawar Hanif, Mr. Gates lauded Pakistan's efforts in the war on terror and expressed appreciation for the leadership of President Musharraf.
