An evening of Qawwali at the Embassy

As part of celebrations for the 60 th Anniversary of Pakistan's independence, the Embassy organized an Evening of Qawwali at the Chancery on Friday, November 9, 2007, featuring renowned Pakistani artist, Zaman Zaki Taji Qawwal.

The audience comprised guests from the Kennedy Centre, National Geographic Society, Smithsonian Associates, The Hospitality & Information Service (THIS), Pakistani-American students, and community members. The event was covered by Voice of America Television and Radio Service which helped promote and project Pakistan's art and culture in Washington area.
