Ambassador Ashraf Qazi meets Assistant Secretary of State, Christina Rocca

 
Ambassador Ashraf Qazi had a meeting with Assistant Secretary of State, Christina Rocca today. During the meeting they discussed recent developments in US-Pakistan relations.

Assistant Secretary Rocca reiterated the US Government's appreciation for the vital contribution of Pakistan in the war on terror. She welcomed recent developments in the Pakistan-India relations and the positive steps taken by Pakistan in this regard. Discussing Afghanistan, Ambassador Qazi reiterated his Government's support for the political process in that country and for the Karzai government. He stressed that Pakistan Government had spared no effort in ensuring that its territory could not be used by extremists for launching attacks across its border against any country. They also discussed the appropriations bill for US fiscal 04 under discussion in the Congress and utilization of assistance funds proposed for Pakistan.
