Missouri Governor to lead business delegation to Pakistan
WASHINGTON, May 5 (APP)- Pakistan Ambassador to the United States,Ashraf
Jehangir Qazi Wednesday said Governor of Missouri Bob Holden has expressed
his interest in leading a business delegation to Pakistan, and receiving
a Pakistan businessmen's delegation in Missouri.
Ambassador Qazi who undertook a four-day visit to Saint Louis, Missouri,
said this while talking to APP.
The busy schedule of his engagements in St. Louis included his meeting
with Governor Holden during which, both discussed enhanced cooperation
in the field of trade and commerce.
During his visit, the Mayor of St. Louis, Francis Slay presented keys
of the city to Ambassador Ashraf Qazi, at a simple but befitting ceremony,
which reflected the close and cordial relations enjoyed by the two nations.
Mr. Qazi further said that Governor Bob Holden also expressed his interest
in having sister university relationship between the state of Missouri
and universities in Pakistan.
The Ambassador also visited the Boeing Company at St. Lious which manufactures
military equipment, and discussed the cooperative relationship.
He also visited St. Monteno and Chesterfield, and discussed cooperation
in the field of agriculture.
Ambassador Qazi also met with the members of the editorial board of Missouri's
largest-circulated daily 'The Saint Louis Post-Dispatch.'Besides, he also
gave interviews to the network of KMOX radio stations, which covers 12
States in Mid-West America.
On April 30, the Ambassador addressed the World Affairs Council, in which
he threw light on the growing multi-year and multi-faceted U.S.-Pakistan
relations.
He also met the Pakistani-American community of St. Louis, listened to
their demands and suggestions, and detailed the concrete measures the
Pakistan Embassy was taking to facilitate the community in excelling in
the areas of its pursuit.
