Foreign Minister Kasuri called upon the Pakistani-American community

WASHINGTON, May 19 (APP)- Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri Tuesday evening called upon the Pakistani-American community to "get more involved in mainstream American issues" and appealed it and the existing community organizations to espouse the worthy cause and lend full support to the recently-formed Pakistani American Liaison Center (PAL-C).

The Foreign Minister was speaking at a dinner hosted by Ambassador Ashraf Jehangir Qazi, in his honor, and for the Board of Directors of the PAL-C.

The newly-launched group of the PAL-C is dedicated to working with "soon-to-be created Pakistan Caucus in the U.S. Congress."

Foreign Minister Kasuri underlined the need for "political activism."

He welcomed the plan to launch the Congressional Pakistan Caucus, and told the PAL-C group that President General Pervez Musharraf "is very keen on encouraging and supporting such community initiatives."
