Ambassador Qazi meets with U.S. Assistant Secy of State Ms. Christina
Rocca
WASHINGTON, Jun 15 (APP)- Ambassador Ashraf Jehangir Qazi held a detailed
meeting Monday with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, Ms. Christina Rocca,
at the State Department, during which bilateral relations between Pakistan
and the United States were discussed.
The areas covered included cooperation in the ongoing global fight against
terrorism, bilateral cooperation in various fields of mutual interest,
Pakistan-India relations including Kashmir issue, U.S. assistance to Pakistan,
Afghanistan, Middle East and Iraq.
Ms. Rocca categorically praised the close cooperation extended by Pakistan
in the ongoing war against terror.
She praised the valuable and effective performance being rendered by Pakistani's
security forces in respect of undergoing operation against hiding suspects
on the Western borders of the country with Afghanistan.
The Asisstant Secretary of State expressed the confidence that singular
accomplishments would be attained in the light of continuing cooperation
between Pakistan and the United States.
Reiterating continued U.S. assistance to Pakistan, Ms.Rocca assured the
Pakistan Ambassador that fruitful and
mutually-advantageous collaboration between the two countries would continue
to grow.
Ambassador Ashraf Qazi briefed the high U.S. official on various aspects
of the Pakistan-U.S. relationship,with a particular emphasis on the elaborate
measures at hand to rootout terrorism and extremism.
